| Utilizing Heartmath© for Strategic Intervention | |
Steve has extensive experience in the utilization of HeartMath in the therapeutic setting and is one of the key therapeutic program development staff with the Institute of HeartMath. He is a contributing author in the new training textbook, HeartMath Interventions: Establishing a New Baseline for Sustained Behavioral Change. HeartMath Interventions is a training textbook created to guide therapists, counselors, and psychologists in effectively implementing HeartMath into their therapeutic interventions. Steve Also played a key role in the development of the accompanying HeartMath Interventions on-line counselor training program offered by the Institute of HeartMath.
HeartMath is a simple-to-use stress measurement tool that can take intervention to a whole new level. Steve has utilized HeartMath extensively in his clinical practice for many years and has taken his many experiences to teach strategic interventions. These interventions have been tested and have reached some of the toughest-to-reach client populations, including victims of trauma, adolescent alcohol and drug abuse, and much more. This training includes the development of intervention based upon neurological stress in the inner brain. Short video clips and customized graphics help build the roadway of understanding to a new and innovative intervention that can work with anyone.

What is HeartMath? HeartMath research has identified a measurable physiological state that underlies optimal learning and performance. HeartMath learning programs teach tools and techniques to get in sync and engage this state of optimal functioning. This includes skills for reducing stress and improving attitudes and relationships, which is especially useful for students’ learning and academic performance. |

This training also includes an examination of stress scans of various clinical diagnoses like posttraumatic stress disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, and alcohol and drug abuse. These scans and this training teach a greater understanding of intervention with HeartMath.
